Beyond intriguing characters and intricate plots, Alisa gravitates towards stories with captivating environments. She loves to write and read books set in the South.
She is a Midwest native now living in east Tennessee, and after a decade below the Mason-Dixon Line, she’s still fascinated with the surrounding culture, weather, flora, and fauna. In the South, ants are feisty and copperheads own the summer woods. Further down, where Spanish moss mantles live oaks, alligators hunt. July’s humidity wakes you before dawn and the cicadas sing until sunset. There’s fried food and soul food. Secret recipes and secret fishing holes. Mystery and charm and a thousand stories waiting to be told.
Along with her passion for writing, Alisa is an artist and has a degree in Character Animation, a blend of both creative worlds. She enjoys camping and kayaking with her husband and children and is an outgoing introvert. Her prayer is for Christ to be magnified in all areas of her life.
Alisa’s current WIP (work in progress) is a contemporary story with an old-fashioned feel. Set near a swamp, it’s inspired by Beauty and the Beast and centers around family and faith.
